Capitol Grand construction update
In December, LK Property Group appointed the internationally-renowned contractor Multiplex to undertake construction of Capitol Grand, Melbourne’s first six-star residential and luxury retail destination.
In the seven months since, a great deal of progress has been made on the landmark site located on the corner of Chapel St and Toorak Rd, South Yarra.
Thousands of cubic metres of soil has been removed to accommodate Capitol Grand’s enormous 6-storey basement. Once excavation is complete, approximately 190,000 cubic metres will have been dug from the site – an amount that would fill 76 Olympic swimming pools.
Nick Sier, LK Property Group’s Development Manager, says it won’t be long until basement excavation is complete and tower cranes rise above the famous Melbourne location.
“Tower crane installation is a major milestone on any project because it earmarks the commencement of works on the main buildings,” says Sier.
Sier says this initial stage of construction has also seen over 150 piles drilled and more than 700 anchors inserted into the ground. “Everything is progressing extremely well.”
Incomparable luxury
Capitol Grand is an opportunity not to be missed. Once complete, it will be set a new benchmark in luxury apartment living.
In addition to lavishly-appointed apartments, it will house a range of exquisite amenities including swimming pools, gymnasiums, private dining spaces, as well as a lush elevated garden designed by intentionally-renowned Melbourne landscape architect, Jack Merlo.
Save thousands on stamp duty
On 1 July, changes to Victoria’s stamp duty laws are set to take effect. Significantly, these will scrap stamp duty savings for all off the plan investors. However, investors can still save tens of thousands of dollars if they purchase before June 30.
If you are considering purchasing an apartment in Capitol Grand, now really is the time to act.
